extracting information

I have a complaint log that I am trying to extract information from.
One column lists the company. I am trying to automatically determin
how many times in a given month, quarter, or year each company enters
complaint. Using this information, I want to create a histogram an
cum% and chart this on the same graph.

I can obtain unique entries and the number of occurances but can no
sort these.
I have experimented with pivot tables but can not figure out how plo
both the histogram and cum% on the pivot chart. Excel will not let m
create any other chart types than the pivot chart based on the pivo
table information.

Does anyone have any ideas

ok, after much trial and error this morning, I have finally figured ou
how to plot 2 sets of data in my pivot chart, one from the "total" an
the other a "running total".

Is there any way to make the "running total" a cumulative %
