Extra spacing in cells that are wrapped

In certain cells of my Excel spreadsheet, when I go to Print Preview it
appears as if there is a blank line inserted below the text. The formatting
on all cells in this column is: wrapped text, general horizontal alignment,
top vertical alignment, with text direction set to 'context'. I have tried
changing the formatting to various options, as well as placing my cursor at
the end of the text in the cell and pressing 'delete' to remove extra spaces.
The information looks fine in normal view, however in Print Preview it looks
like an extra line is inserted. It does print with the extra spaces as well.

All the rows are on AutoFit and appear to fit properly in Normal View. I
have been told that it is possible that Excel is not properly calculating the
space needed for the text (sometimes several hundred characters long). I'm
looking for confirmation on this idea if it's true!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sadly I don't know what the effect of "General" horizontal
alignment is. I always use "Center". I try both "Top"
and "Bottom" for vertical alignment is "Center" isn't
working well. Strangely, sometimes "Top" does a better
job of moving the text down than "Bottom". If you don't
have to keep the size of your font as it is, you might
experiment with a larger size. Even changing from
"Regular" to "Bold" might help.

General means that text entries are left aligned, numeric entries (including
dates) are right aligned.
