I have an extra CD Drive Indicated under "My Computer" & listed under
"Devices with removable storage." Anyone know how to get rid of this? Thanks

If it is showing in device manager, uninstall it from there and reboot, if
that doesn't work remove both CD drives and reboot, if it is still showing
try removing all instances in safe mode..

Post your results..

I only have 1 CD drive and this is the only one that shows up in device
manager. When I disconnected this CD Drive & rebooted, the extra CD Drive is
the only one that shows up. However in Safe Mode, this extra CD Drive does
not show up. This seems peculiar? I looked under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller and
found 3 items : Primary IDE Channel, Secondary IDE Channel and SIS PCI IDE
Controller. Does this have anything to do with it?

You may have some software that performs a so-called hardware
emulation. One example of this is U3-enabled thumb drives, like some
of the Kingston DataTraveler drives and the Cruzer Micros, and
another example is CD Daemon or CD image software that loads ISO, BIN,
NRG, CCD, and other CD image filetypes as a physical CD drive.

No, most likely not the issue..
What is the OEM make and model for computer or (if home built) the boxed
mobo..?

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
Use the above Everest Home ver, quick report to text option to cut & paste
the mobo, storage, etc, info as I did for my rig, see below..

Storage:
IDE Controller Intel(R) 82801DB
Ultra ATA Storage Controller - 24CB
Floppy Drive Floppy disk drive
Disk Drive Maxtor 6Y200P0 (200
GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133)
Disk Drive Maxtor 6B250R0 (250
GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133)
Optical Drive GENERIC DVD DUAL
4XMax
Optical Drive Memorex 16X-DDL-IN
SMART Hard Disks Status OK

Motherboard:
CPU Type Intel Pentium 4,
2400 MHz (18 x 133)
Motherboard Name Intel Silver Reef
D845PESV (6 PCI, 1 AGP, 2 DIMM, Audio)
Motherboard Chipset Intel Brookdale
i845PE
System Memory 1024 MB (PC2700 DDR
SDRAM)
BIOS Type AMI (04/25/03)
Communication Port Communications Port
(COM1)
Communication Port ECP Printer Port
(LPT1)

My IDE controller is also seen in device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI
Controllers along with the primary & secondary IDE channels (3) as well..

Perhaps Everest can help you to ID the occurrence of the mystery optical
drive or other virtual device, etc..?

Thank-you. I removed the Ultra ISO Premium Program and the extra CD Drive
indication has gone away. I am in awe of your knowledge. Thanks
