External speakers not working after upgrade to XP

A month ago, Windows ME crashed so the Gateway people
fixed the computer and I bought XP. All is great but I
get no sound at all from my external Boston Acoustic
speakers. And no speaker on the computer works at all!!

I'm 99% sure I'm plugged into the right jack in the back
of the Gateway/Athlon processor tower. Any ideas?

Certainly double check the cables, then check to see if your soundcard is
compatible with XP or be sure the card manufacturer is supporting the card
in XP, check their website for XP drivers for your soundcard.
