External links Disappear.

I've been having random occurances of external links to data disappearing
from Excel woorkbooks.

Using Excel 2002, and I have yet to find a common thread as to when this
happens. But I'll go to refresh data from the Data menu, and it will be
greyed out, and under get external data all I can do is create a new query.

Has anyone run into this issue or something similar. Any information would
be great.

Looks like someone is removing links by copying the cells containing
them an using Edit/Paste Special/Values.
 
Well, since I'm not copying the data anywhere, I don't see how that would
have an effect.

I'll simple open a workbook that has a query in it and it will be gone.
