Can Excel be linked to SAS query in the same way as MC Access (pivot table
from external data source)?

on what side?
SAS accessing the data or SAS dumping the data out?

SAS can link to the workbook and get info and can write to workbooks
so both are possible with caveats of course.

If you have more info, post on comp.sys.sas.
