have an omega ext HDD and its been allocated "J" drive until recently, it
wasn't plugged in and a card reader took over the "J" and now HDD is
"K"...no big deal but meant some shortcuts needed fixing to find drive. how
in future can I manually change the drive allocation?
cheers

Right click my computer and go to management
Click on disk management
Select the drive of which you want to change its letter and right click it and select change letter/path.
Select the letter you want to assign it and job done.

Hope this helps.

Go to the Start Menu and RMB on My Computer. Select Manage. Browse to Disk
Management. Select the drive and RMB. Select Change Drive Letters and
Paths...
