External Hard drive

I have an external HD and want to save eveything on my Laptop HD because it
has to be replaced.

Some of the Software programs that I have were downloaded so I don't have
the capability to relaod the software onto the new HD

Can I save all this on my External and how do I go about doing it.
 
Sorry, the "externaldata" in this newsgroup's name refers to Access, the
database product that's part of Office Professional, interacting with data
from external sources.

You'd be best off reposting your question to a newsgroup related to whatever
operating system you're using.
