External hard drive

I powered off my computer before going on vacation including my external usb
hard drives. When I powered them back on one of the external drives is now
not being recognized by my computer. Can anyone help? Please.
 
Try disconnecting the USB drive, then boot to Windows, shut Windows down and
re-attach the USB drive and if Windows recognizes a new device.

How did you power off the computer before you went on vacation?
Did you mean the computer will not boot after you turn on power?
