External Hard Drive Problem

I set up a new external Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 HD, I loaded a few pics on
it to test it out, and the pics were lost. I completely reformatted the EHD,
and now when I plug it in and turn it on, nothing happens. I looked under
manage on my computer, and nothing shows up there either. I ran the Seagate
installation program, but couldn't get past select the storage device from
the expandable tree, since it isn't detected......any help would be
appreciated!!!

Hi:

I think it is a problem with the amp. you external HDD is getting. If you
are using an external P.Supply, try a new one if posibble. It may be the HDD
is getting the power to turn it on, but not enough to make it work. Also
check data cables and try another SUB port.

The best opction, try in friend/colleague computer to see it has the same
problem. If it doesn´t work, call Seagate and ask for a whole new unit.
