'Extensible Performance Counter List' - how much is it needed?

If I use Microsoft's Extensible Performance Counter List
(Exctrlst.exe) to stop performcnace counter data being collected
then will utilities like Task Manager still work properly?

What about third-party utilities like Process Explorer from
SysInternals?

Sure, why not? Or at least, I haven't noticed anything different with
the things for which I normally use Task Manager, which are viewing CPU
and memory usage, and terminating non-responding tasks.

What about third-party utilities like Process Explorer from
SysInternals?

Sorry, no idea what this one does.
