Extending my C: drive

I have a user who's system is currently setup with a single 36GB SATA drive
as the C: drive and then 2 - 250GB SATA drives setup in a RAID1 mirror. The
mirror has approximately 220GB of free space while the C: drive is down to
about 8GB. Due to some applications running on this machine, and the lack of
support he has with the vendors, he will not, or does not know how to map
these applications to the D: drive. He is insisting that we ghost the C:
drive as it is and install a larger 300GB drive and ghost the image back onto
the machine. What version of Ghost would I need and can you then extend the
System Partition once the image has been ghosted onto the new drive?

Thanks in advance for your time.

It's too late now, but it would have been good to install programs into
another partition created on the mirrored drives. Then 36 gig should
have been plenty. My C: drive is only 6 gig, but all my data resides on
a D: drive and programs are on an E: drive.

Try Acronis True Image. It has a 15 day free trial which should get the
job done. But it's a worthwhile program to own also.

I know Ghost 9 will image to a drive as large or larger than the previous
drive.
Probably find any limitations, on the Symantec site.

Most drive manufacturers also offer free software to copy an old drive to a
new, larger drive. [IIRC, Maxtor uses a version of Acronis. Other
manufacturers may use something else.]
Check the manufacturers site for the type of drive you will be moving to.
(I've never used an SATA drive.)

Thanks you for your responses. Ghost 12 did the trick. The trial version
does not open the CopyDisk feature so we were forced to purchase it for $70+
but it was worth it. The Symantec "Live-chat" group gave me the wrong
procedures to use twice and troubleshooting those problems took 4+ hours.
Once I got someone on the phone that had a clue what they were doing the
process took about 2 hours total and our original 36GB C: drive is not 300GB
and working with only one minor issue. Whenever you reboot the system it
requires you to press F1 to continue booting. Sucks when I'm remoted in
though. We pulled the original HD out of the system and did not move its
cable to the new drive. Think this might be the case???
