Exporting Yes/No field to XLS

R

Robin Chapple

I have a membership database which records various options per member
by the use of a Yes/No box.

When I attempt to export a report, including a Yes/No field in XLS
format the Yes/No field is ignored. It does not feature in the report
at all.

Is it possible to inlude a Yes/No field in an XLS export?

Thanks,

Robin Chapple

You're wanting to export the value of a Yes/No field to an EXCEL
spreadsheet? Such fields will export with value of 0 (if the field has a No
value in it) or -1 (if the field has a Yes value in it). Are you not seeing
this result?

No the field is ignored.

I get the previous field and the subsequent field only.

hi,
I think there is something wrong with your export. i
export yes/no fields from access to excel weekly if not
daily.

Try binding the field to a Textbox on the report that you're exporting
(rather than a Checkbox); format it either -1/0 or Yes/No depending on
how you want the field to appear in Excel. Does this resolve the
issue?

Robin -

I've confirmed in a test what you're seeing, assuming that you're using File
| Export while in the report's Preview mode... am checking now to see if
there's any workaround other than just exporting the report's RecordSource
query (which does work).

Robin -

The only workaround would involve exporting the report's recordsource by
clicking a command button on a form; or by having the report's Close event
do the export via VBA code (would be exported when you close the report).
There does not appear to be a way to make these fields export from the
preview mode.

Then don't be backward Frank, tell us how. This is supposed to be a
help forum :)
