exporting to a minimal html file

I have an excel 2003 document I want to export to html. No calculations,
justa data. Excel's built-in save as feature creates a 220 kb html file
full of pointless tags and formatting. Just for the sake of curiosity, I
made a pdf out of that file, and the result was only 28 kb!
Why does Microsoft suck so damn much? Microsoft is supposed to hire the
best engineers and programmers, yet none of them seems to realize how
stupid it is to create a file 10 times bigger than it is necessary...
All I want is a way to create a ***small*** html file. Is there any
plugin or macro to do it?

Maybe your usedrange is bigger then your data range
