Hi,

We are using Outlook 2003 with Exchange as the backend. We have implemented
public folders and one of my managers wants to export a calendar public
folder to Excel or Word so that she can take it home with her on a jump
drive. Is this possible?

I tried just doing a File|Export but it doesn't give me the public folders
as a source option. Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Linn

Have her create a PST (File>New>Outlook Data File). Then right-click the
public folder, Select "Copy" and specify the root of that new PST as the
destination. When the copy completes, close the PST with right-click>Close.
Close Outlook and copy the PST to the jump drive.

At home, start Outlook and open the PST with File>Open>Outlook Data File.
She'll have access to all the data in that calendar.

Thanks for the help Brian. I was hoping for something a bit less involved
but I'll pass it along. I wonder if it would be possible, easier for the
user, to write a macro either in Outlook or Excel that does the export.

Thanks,
Linn

How is copying a public folder (right-click and drag) less easy than running
a macro that exports? Exporting loses data.
