How come when I go to IE>File>Import Export and use the Import/Export Wizard
to export my favorites to another drive for backup it shows up in HTML? Is
there some way to save the favorites in the same text and format I see it in
when I open it from an Internet Explorer window?

If you just want to use this file as a backup, don't worry about it. The
File/Import dialogue will restore the favorites in the format you''re used to
seeing.
If you have something else in mind, just copy the entire Favorites folder.

You could always just backup the contents of the favorites folder (or and
copy and paste the contents to a nother location).

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Favorites

Best avoid copying or moving the Favorites folder itself as its a system
folder and seems to have magic properties that can cause unexpected
problems.
