Exporting Emails with Attachments

S

Steve Forrestor

I have painted myself into a corner...

I have 300+ HTML email messages each with a TEXT email attached to it.

I would like to export, e.g., [Menu: File]-[Menu: Import and
export...]-[Window: Export to a file], the 300+ email messages such that the
content of the attached TEXT email messages are also exported.

Does anyone know any straightforward or suitable workaround method for doing
this?

Thanks!

Why not just drag them out of their Outlook folder to a Windows folder?

Brian,
OK... Now that I move all of the emails to a Windows folder, how do I get
the attachments from all 350 emails into a text file?
If this is an intuitively obvious question for someone sufficiently skilled
in the art, please humor my ignorance.
Thanks!
Steve

You didn't say you wanted the attachments in a text file. You said:

Dragging them to a Windows folder is exporting them, no matter what format
their attachments are. You didn't say you wanted to _extract_ the
attachments.

See http://www.slipstick.com/addins/housekeeping.htm for some tools to help
with that.

Brian,
Sorry for not being more specific... and thanks for the additional
information.

The solution is...

1. Drag & drop all the mails out of Outlook and into a folder. (This will
create .msg files with the attachments still attached.)

2. Use programs like those from www.a1soft.com to extract either text or,
in my case email addresses, from both the email messages and the attached
text messages.

Thank you to all the people who pointed me in the direction of the solution!
