Exporting Crystal to Excel (via GoldMine)

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble getting data exported out of our GoldMine database
through a crystal report and into excel. Management like the crystal
'looks' but wants to play around with the data in excel.

Have tried the 'export as data only' option but I get lots of funny
extra blank rows & coloums....

Any ideas?

What options are you selecting in the Excel Format Options dialog box?

I've ticked 'column width based on report header' - the other choice
there is column width based on group footer #1. The other option i
tick is the maintain column alignment...

The choices i don't tick are:
Export page header & page footer
simplify page headers
use worksheet functions for summaries
export object formatting
export images

It looks like you may have text fields in your "column width based on"
section (like Group Footer #1) or that you have shifted some of those fields
out-of-alignment from their data in the detail section.

If you have columns with headers listed in the page header that line up
correctly, you might try exporting the page header and base the column
widths on the page header, then delete that row if you don't want it in
excel.

Past that, you might try checking the knowledge base for Crystal
Reports...the website is businessobjects.com
