Exporting an Excel HTML file that can be read by all browsers/platforms

I want to export an excel spreadsheet to an HTML file, but I want
friends that do not use windows )they use linux) to use it , as well as
people who not have MS Office 2003 web components to be able to view
it.

Is there a way to export a spreadsheet as jscript ot javascript? Or is
there another solution?
