Explorer window resizing

Does anyone here know why certain websites resize the Explorer window?
This has been an annoying feature of certain websites that I have
encountered lately. Any help would be appreciated, TIA.

Hello,

Some designers prefer their viewers to see their website in a size they see
fit.

One way to stop this is to disable active scripting (JavaScript) in..

Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level > Active Scripting >
Disable

...but this will disable lots of JavaScript functionality in many sites,
including AJAX.

3rd party add-ons can stop these (such as popupcop), but they are not free.

Or you can download the free Maxthon. I never seen a website resize a
Maxthon window yet. Just a thought.
