I would recommend to scan the computer for adware, using SpyBot and perhaps even a second adware scanner like Ad-aware. After that and after adware removal, you usually have to repair the Winsock. Details on that can be found at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm. If this doesn't repair the problem, you may have to do a repair installation of Windows XP. Hans-Georg
