Explorer screen only 1/2 of monitor screen

I have a 6 month old Dell desktop. When I fire up Windows
Explorer, the page-size is small and only fills 1/2 of
the screen width. It does fill the full height. I'm sure
there is a way to expand it out, but I haven't found the
key. Anybody know?

go to control panel and change youre display to 1024x768

put youre mouse over the botem right of the click and
move

Tried both of those (this and lowering resolution of
screen), and neither worked - have another shot?
