Explorer refuses to copy "My Documents" folder to other disk

Windows Explorer refuses to copy "My Documents" folder to
removable disk. It only ever creates a shortcut.

In some places "My Documents" is a system shortcut (aka a name space item).
Try copying My Documents from this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your account>\My Documents

If you have redirected your My Documents to a different location, locate
that folder with Windows Explorer instead of using the default location
mentioned above.
