Explorer Page Faults

I have a strange problem with my Windows XP PRO os.. I am running
Pentium 3.0Ghz, 100 Gb Harddisk and 512 MB of Ram. When I start the Pc
it boots up fast and everything l;ooks fine as I keep working the
windows Ram consumes keep raising and it consumes upto 1.7GB Virtual
memory on my PC and everything becomes stand still, I have noticed
that it is Explorer.exe process which consumes that Virtual Memory and
i have to restart the PC to get it up and running. I ahev not
installed any high RAM consuming apps it jsut runs on Adobe acrobat
and Office XP.
and ideas?

Try turning off the "Indexing Service" in Office: Go to
File-File Serach, then in the Task Payne you should
see "Search options" about in the middle of the payne.
Click on that and choose "No, do not enable indxing".
