Explorer.exe problems

Explorer.exe(not internet explorer) is not running properly. I cant access my
taskbar and when i close it, my taskbar and all my desktop icons all
disappear leaving me nothing to work with. Sytem Restore is not solving the
problem too. Please tell me what do i do.
 
I am having the same problem. I do not have the full
Windows disk to reinstaal because the computer came pre
installed,OEM softeware. Microsoft says its Compact's
problem and Compact says is Microsoft's problem. I have
news for them both, It is my problem right now.
 
Every PC comes with a way to repair the installation, either with a CD or by
a hidden partition on the hard disk. The instructions for this should be
with the documentation you received with your computer. Otherwise, try
Compaq's technical support web site.
