Please help me. I have windows vista x86 installed. The installation
works perfect but after 20 to 30
minutes on, the windows and tool bar seems to be erratic, for example
the tool bar supossed to be in the lower part is on the top
The problem can be solved only reinitiating the process explorer.exe,
and then all seems to be ok for another 30 minutes, then the problem
comes again.

Is this a problem caused by a incompatible installed software? a
virus? i have AVG professional installed and it doesnt detect
anything

please help me, i have already installed win vista two times and the
problem
is still here.

Thanks

I get a simular problem where the Quick Launch will stop working. The Start
Menu will malfunction. Restarting DWM. or Explorer will fix it. Could this
be a bug?

IS MS aware of this probelem. It happens often when the computer is left on.
Most of the time it will happen, Explorer.exe is the culprit..

I am also having the same problem. Vista Business, clean install,
Nvidia Ge-force 6800 video card. I have tried updating all drivers
etc. nothing seems to help. This is the first place I have found that
describes the problem, unfortunately I have not found the answer yet.
Hopeful someone will figure this out and post a fix.

Another saaad one: the checkbox "Store and display a list of recently opened
files", under "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties/Start Menu" goes unchecked
when it wants to - does not stay checked, say, three Windows sessions in a
row. I work with Microsoft products since 1990; I have never seen such
shameful annoyances like the ones that Vista brought to the unexperienced
user, and this displeases me greatly. Most of the time I spend in front of
my PC I do .NET programming, so I expected Vista to be the paradise for the
common users and a quiet haven for software developers... I wonder,
Microsoft, if you might not have some high-ranked saboteurs gone wild inside
your house, because all these annoyances, like this one and the ones with
the user interface, are CREEPY and DO NOT BRING A GOOD IMAGE FOR VISTA
!!!!...

i have the same problem as you guys, taskbar goes weird, quicklaunch icons
disappear and the taskabr buttons representing the opened or closed
applications take up its space, with the 1st taskbar button corresponding to
an opened applcation is actually beaneathe the start button orb. the taskbar
notification icons on the right are totally gone all is left is an aero blur
devoid of the dark slate colour of the taskbar. (even effects the windows of
windows explorer and controlpanel when open)

happens after maybe 20mins. to fix i usually open task manager, end
explorer.exe and run it again. taskmanager now even knows im gunno rerun it
and has explorer.exe already typed up for me.

am installing the hotfix now, will post again if the hotfix hasnt worked. if
u havent heard from me then it probably has worked

hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/932406/en-us

I suggest that you run your AV and Maware tools. This issue is indicative of a Malware\Trrojan

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
