Explorer.exe keeps growing in size

Hi there,
I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 on a P4 2.4 Ghz, 512 MG, 400 Mhz system.
Explorer.exe keeps growing in size until the machine slows down drastically.
Typically I have to reboot the machine every 3 days or so. I always keep my
OS patched, and run multiple virus scaners and adware/spyware scanners in
the background. I also do a complete scan atleast once a day with the latest
builds. I am pretty confident that the growth in size is not due to spyware.
Can someone suggest a solution to this problem?

When it happens type
cmd /k tasklist /m /fi "imagename eq explorer.exe"

Then identify each dll listed by finding it, right click then Properties. You can probably ignore standard XP files.
