I cannot launch Windows Explorer without the process
quitting and restarting. When I launch IE the process
starts and then quickly exits. I've removed all anti-
virus programs and i've scrubbedt he box for spyware with
Spybot. In safe mode, everything works fine.

How about AdAware? AdAware picks up many things that Spybot doesn't and vice
versa.

Hi Lars,
The fact that you do not experience the issue in Safe Mode indicates that
there is some kind of third party component that is interfering with normal
OS operations. The first thing that I would suggest would be to open IE in
Safe Mode and go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and clear the
checkbox for "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)".
Reboot and see if your problem still happens. If a 3rd-party .dll is being
loaded under IE and causing the problem, the problem should go away.
