Explorer closes if I visit certain sites

I'm having problems visiting two of my favorite websites.
About two months ago, Internet Explorer started closing
right away if I tried to visit the home page of the first
site. The second site will allow me to go into the site,
but if I click on certain articles on that site at certain
times of day, Explorer also closes.

I tried calling technical support, but they are
WORTHLESS. I suspect this may have something to do with
Java, whatever that is. Can someone please help me fix
this problem?

Java issue?

Tools/internet options/advanced/Microsoft VM
....only tick the JIT compiler box and leave the Java boxes un checked
(default)

Parasite?
IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the malware is.
