Explorer and Google Desktop do not like each other!

After 3 complete system reconstructions this year, each time Explorer slowly
ceased to function. The only common component in these 3 failures of XP
(with all updates) is that I had recently installed the Google Desktop
crawler. The problem is first noticed in Outlook, where I could not create
an attachemnt to an email, because Explorer and Outlook failed. I will not
do it again, even though I like the functionality. Hopefully Microsoft will
come out with a desktop crawler that actually works in the near future.
