explorer address bar not being desplayed

pls help. something strange has happened to my internet
explorer. whenever i open the browser the address bar is
not being desplayed for me to type in the sites i want to
visit. it just openes the default page. if i want to
visit a site i have to change the default setting.

Open Internet Explorer, go to "View" on the IE menu, then
choose "Toolbars", check "Address Bar", close IE and then
restart it, and see if it displays correctly.
