Internet Explorer 5 Service Pack 2 or an upgrade to Internet Explorer 6
failed to install or partially install which resulted in corrupt files
rendering the computer unable to fully boot.
Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module SHDOC401.DLL at

Additional Notes: The end of the Microsoft Knowlegebase article gives the
following workaround if the repair utility is inaccessible (keep the
Explorer errors, above, open. Otherwise the computer will lock up. Drag it
to the side and you should still have room to work and do the steps in the
article.)

Hotbar (Parasite) As been known to cause this problem with
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, one was .dll_getpromo&ei=ec%3bhotbar%....., another was
{F74BD2FO-468B-4D98-8BDF-.........}.
