Explanation of error message?

I have a desktop PC running XP Home SP2. Outlook Express 6 SP2 is my email
and newsgroup program. I connect via a DSL modem.

Sometimes, but not very often, when I try to download new newsgroup
messages, a window pops up saying server error. When I click the "more
info" button, nothing is listed. This morning, I couldn't view any
newsgroup messages for a while, repeatedly getting error messages.

Then I got the "Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We apologize for the inconvenience." Below is part of the text as
reported by Dr. Watson. I realize this is a long shot, but can anyone
interpret this and tell me what might have caused the crash?

<<Application exception occurred:
App: C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe (pid=1972)
When: 2/14/2005 @ 11:47:00.218
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)>>
