expires

I am searching this too. My help file in MAS says I have
ver. 1.0.509 that expires 7/31/05...after that, what do I
do?? I have read that MS intends to keep MAS free for all
users of the Win XP SP2 platform, so I am not worried.
But what does "expire" mean?? The end of the "BETA" run,
and a release of the new and improved final version of
MAS??
I noticed that the latest version is 1.0.614 and I have
kept my MAS regularly updated and I haven't been bumped
up from .509 to 614. I have only detected 2 spywares in 2
months, is this thing really working?

I have been reading the forums, I hope MAS is working
OK. I can't believe I haven't been attacked by any
spyware in two months,I know, I know, it doesn't flag
cookies and miners... It must be because of clean living.
I have been getting alot of pop-ups blocked bars
lately..is that the MAS doing that? Or my XP pop-up
blocker?

It's the XP pop-up blocker. Microsoft Antispyware doesn't include a pop-up
blocker, although some of the spyware that it will help you remove does
generate pop-ups, or pop-unders.

Clean living is probably it. Frankly, most of the spyware I see cleaned
here gave plenty of warning via activex dialogs or requests for approval
"press this button to receive a ticket to enter our site" or the like. Or
comes in via unpatched holes in a system exploited by a rogue web site.
