If your time machine isn't up to fixing this issue, and you're certain your
date is correct on the machine, go to the control panel settings for your
locale, and reset the short and long date formats to the very first settings
in the drop down menus. Other choices may also work, but the first
settings, which I believe are the defaults, have worked for everyone I've
tested this with so far.
