How do you change the state of drop down menus in Windows XP so that they
open in an EXPANDED format vs. the collapsed mode Windows sets as default?

Windows does no such thing to drop down menus. It only does it to the Start menu in classic mode.

You're correct, the OP did not mention Office. But many of the posters here don't seem aware of the difference between the OS
and various Microsoft applications.

That's not good enough. People like that need punishment. It is not a question of knowledge but of thinking.

Well, perhaps you're correct. One can't teach someone to think for themselves by spoonfeeding them answers. But merely refusing to
answer until they come up with a well thought out question isn't nearly good enough. Can we implement over the Internet something
such as the following:

They were then taken, as the expression was, "to sleep with the English". This meant that they were made to lie down on
their backs on the ground with one army blanket beneath and one on top. Their outstretched legs were tied by the feet to
pegs hammered into the ground, while their arms were stretched out above their heads, with their hands manacled and also
tied to a peg in the ground. In this excruciating position they had to spend the night before receiving their punishment
the following morning.

The punishment consisted of a whipping which was administered in this manner: The boy would be stripped and held over a
barrel. One Tommy would hold his ankles, while another would clasp his hands together behind the boy's head and push it
downwards. Then the sergeant would deliver the prescribed number of lashes across the boy's bare back.

Well least WE won that war. Although the Brits didn't like it when we used terror back against the terrorist boer. And we'll win the third battle of the current war with 46 runs to win.

Well, since I AM running Windows in Classic mode, how do I change the
setting? (Why would you presume I am not running in Classic mode and then
not answer my question?)

Recently MS Dhoni got one (off Flintoff). But he was OK.

You are being taught a lesson about making useless posts. Why would I presume you are running in classic. Why would I assume drop down means Start Menu. Why wouldn't I assume you are in XP mode. If you know how to set start menu style I suggest you look a litte deeper. It's call personalised menus.

Not bad, winning 11 men against 10.

I want to thank you for your posts to what is, actually, a legitimate
question. That you would ask for more information so you could fully
understand the situation clearly indicates your professional attitude. Your
compassion and willingness to share your knowledge is unique in this world of
crass put-downs and condescending attitudes.

However, I have decide to take my question to a source that, from the
outside at least, seems more at “my level.†While, I am sure, that they
“could teach me a lessonâ€, they seem more inclined to actually give me
information I can use and is not easy to find via Window Help.

Again, thank you for your kind post. (I do have one request. IF I ever
post here again, would you please refrain from replying to those post. Your
co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.)
