expandable lists

I am assisting a customer who is using Word 2000 on a
Windows 2000 system. She needs assistance setting up an
expandable bullited list in word similar to the expandable
folders in the windows file explorer. Hit the + and it
expands, hit the - and it collapses. My first thought is
this is not possible, the closest thing I can think of is
the document map which expands and collapses sub
documents. The customer claims she has seen this before
but cannot find me a sample document to mimic. Does anyone
know if there is a way to make an expandable list in Word?

You need to look at the Outline mode of Word. It does all you want.
