Hi. My friend's computer is stuck in Safe Mode.
We have tried all the usual methods (Up Arrow/select OS/Enter. Can't
open Task Mgr to use Ctrl/Alt/Delete or Start/Turn Off Computer/Turn
Off.
She can shut down the system at the CPU but on reboot, it opens in
Safe Mode. Any suggestions. She is running WinXP Home. Thanks.

That's not going to work. The reason the machine is going into Safe Mode
is that something is very broken in the installation. There isn't any
way to tell what's wrong from the post. Certainly if Task Manager won't
run, that's a sure sign of trouble.

To the OP: We don't have enough information about the system to give you
focused troubleshooting. You've posted here enough times to know the
type of details that are needed, but if you need refreshing:

In the meantime:

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?
