I am looking for new transisitions for Powerpoint slides that would capture
an audience's attention. For example having the slide spontaneously combust
leaving the next slide in it's place.

Can you design your own transistions? Is there a current database of slide
transisitions available on the net.

I am currently using Office 2003 with windows XP.

Have a look at crystalgraphics.com - they have a number of Plugins, one
being Transitions.

Additional transitions are available thru Crystal Graphics. To the best of
my knowledge, there are no other commercial transitions that can be bought.
However, you can do some amazing things by using relatively simple
components and some imagination.

For instance: if you have a GIF that shows flames that rise up and die
off, you can split it using something like Animation Factory. Then place
the first half of the gif on the first slide, enlarge it to cover the slide,
add an entrance animation with an "on click' trigger. Then change the 2nd
slide to no transition and place the 2nd half the gif on it and animate it
to exit (with a delay) "with previous".

You will need two clicks to work it, instead of one, but the first starts
the flames (and hides the old slide) and the second will get rid of them
(leaving the new slide showing)

Hi Bill,

This sounds very exciting. Do you have a place where we can see an example?
Or could you send me a sample slide?
