exchange 2003 and Allworx

Hi All,

We are using a device called Allworx for our VoIP and an Exchange
Server 2003 for our email. The Allworx has a feature that allows me to
forward my voice mail to my Outlook Inbox, creating what they call
"unified messaging". My problem is this: I cannot send any messages
from Allworx to my exchange server. Everything comes back as a DNS
failure, but I can send to other Internet mail accounts just fine. Here
is how I have Exchange and Allworx configured:

The DNS server entry on Allworx points to the Exchange Server

The Exchange Server services all internal DNS requests and uses
forwarders to forward out to the DNS servers provided by the ISP for
all other name resolution

The only pubic IP address is the WAN IP on Allworx. The IP on exchange
is a private IP.

We want all Internet access, whether it's SMTP traffic, web traffic,
or anything else to go through the Allworx firewall which it currently
does. However we cannot send to our email domain from Allworx. I have
used nslookup but I was wondering if there is a utility that will show
me the path taken in the name resolution and where it's failing.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

If possible try using the IP address of the Exchange server on the allworth
box.
