Excels line drawing functions

Hi all,

I'm doing a project, and as much as I'd love to be able to
trust that the formulae I'm trying to use and the formulae
that Excel uses are the same, I don't.

Does anyone know how Excel works out the y=f(x) for *ANY*
of the lines ... ?
