when i send an excel spreadsheet to myself i can open it
but if i send it to someone else by email when they go to
open it says more than 64 unable to open. i am baffled
please help.

I'm not sure what that error message means, but there are a few things that can
cause trouble when sharing excel workbooks.

#1. Recipient doesn't own excel.

If all they need to do is view the file, they could use the free viewer from MS:
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/xlviewer.aspx

#2. You're version of excel is too new for the recipient.

If they're using xl95 and you're using xl97-xl2003 (all the same file format),
then make sure you save the file in the xl95 format. (I'd save a copy and send
that.)

#3. You used RichTextFormat to send your email.

Change to HTML or plain text and resend.
