When a user double clicks on any excel file local or
network file he gets "c:\documents.xls could not be found.
Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the
fiule location is correct." It then gives the actual file
name that it cannot open and then will eventually open the
excel file. User can edit and save without issues. Anys
suggestions on how to resolve the initial error message?

Go to tools options general and uncheck Ignore other applications
