A friend is unable to send attachments from Excel through
e-mail. It looks like they are attaching but there's
nothing at the receiving end

Could be lots of things...maybe with his email client, maybe with yours.

I've read posts that descibe problems sending excel attachments in Outlook if
the sender uses RTF (rich text format). If your friend uses Outlook, suggest
sending in plain text or HTML.

Sometimes it's easier to zip the workbook and send that as the attachment. I
use winzip (http://www.winzip.com) as my file compression program. It has a try
before you buy policy.

David McRitchie has suggested UltimateZip (http://www.ultimatezip.com) a free
program that zips and unzips.

(I've never used it, but David likes it.)
