Excel XP gurus - sheet hang problem

I received a file from my college advisor which was made
in Excel. When I open it, it automatically goes to a
specific 2005 sheet tab. When I press the 2004 tab, my
cursor turns to a sheet of paper with a plus sign, and
then will not allow me to do anything - I tried to choose
another option to turn back to a regular pointer and
nothing works. The entire worksheet then locks up and no
commands are usable. I ran Norton Antivirus on it to see
if it had a virus, but results were negative. All I want
to do is print the 2004 sheet tab. Any suggestions from
the gurus out there?

When I want to copy a worksheet, I click on the tab and ctrl-drag it to where I
want to.

I get that same "+ in sheet of paper" icon.

If I were guessing, I'd say one of your control keys is stuck.

Try gently banging the heck out of them <vbg> to see if that fixes it.
