Excel Wont Save.

Greetings,

I have a sheet with a lot of links, formulas, formats and Conditional
Formats. I recently had to change the formulas to account for an
added column on a linked sheet. The formulas converted nicely but the
conditional formatting didn't fare so well. As I tried to correct the
problem, I soon found out that I could not save the corrects. I kept
getting a Microsoft Excel error message:

Excel could not save all the data and formatting you recently added to
1998-03.xls.

I tried to Detect and Repair under the Help menu, but it still won't
save the changes. I've closed everything down and rebooted, but that
didn't help either.

I don't know what else to do.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Hey Norman,

Thanks for the reply.

I am running Excel 2003 on an XP pro box. The problem occurs when I
try to change the Conditional Format on as few as 38 rows. The
article mentioned a 2050 row limitation, There must be some more to
that limitation that the article does not mention.

The sheet in question is BIG. It uses rows 1 thru 1302 and column A
thru GG. It is a schedule with 42 rows per day. The columns are
narrow (.69) to make it easier to fit everything in. The end result
is two pages per day set up for printing. Even so, it is not 2050
rows of Conditional Formatting as the article mentioned.

Any other possibilities come to mind?
