Excel will not allow any keystrokes into any cell on a sheet

I need help to determine how I "locked" excel from accepting any keystrokes
into the cells on a worksheet. I was keying into a cell and accidently
entered an @ when I meant to key a %. I went to select the field and it
threw me out to email as it thought it was an email address I had keyed. I
then went back to the spreadsheet, held the cursor down to select the field
and then just hit delete. The entry was not gone, but I am unable to key
into the spreadsheet. Even if I bring up a new blank spreadsheet, I can not
key into any of the cells. What can I do to correct this>

You must be in edit mode.

Press ESC key to get out of edit mode.

Click and hold to select the cell which is giving you problems. Choose
Edit|Clear All to delete everything in the cell.

Or you can Right-click and choose Remove Hyperlink

Sheelo:

Thanks for your response. I mistyped my original question. The field with
the incorrect data, I was able to delete this out. Now as I said, I can not
enter into any field but I can go into a field and delete its contents. I
still need help.

You can delete the contents of any cell but can not enter a new value in any
of the cell?
Right click on the tab at the bottom and choose View Code. Do you see
something like Sub worksheet_change(ByVal target As Range)?

If yes, delete it till you see End Sub below that and try....

Can you send the file to me?
