Excel Virus Scanner

Anyone able to offer any help on how to disable virus scanner in excel
(office 2003). I open a large number of large files and now excel is
running virus scan on each file every time it is opened. Takes forever....
I know the files are clean and would like to disable the scanner.
Appreciate any help anyone is willing to share.

Hi
this is not an Excel issue :-)
You may have installed something like Norton Antivirus, etc. So you may
turn this off (or exclude Office files). Though I wouldn't recommend
that
