Excel Subtotal

Using Excel 2000 is there a way to do the following:

Copy collapsed subtotals to another location and paste
them so they do NOT expand into the detail; only the
subtotaled list is pasted. I have tried paste special but
it does not work. Every time I paste, the summary data
expands again.

Any suggestions? Thanks,

Hi
try the following:
- collapse your data
- select your data range
- hit F5, click 'Special' and choose 'Only visible cells'
- now copy and paste
