Hi all,

I am not sure if this is the right newsgroup to post my problem. My problem
is to minimize waste during stock cutting.
I need to cut stock into different sizes of rectangular pieces. For example
:
Stock size Quantity
58"x 2000" unlimited
Piecesize Quantity
24"x22" 5,000
18"x12" 5,000
10"x8" 5,000
8"x4" 5,000
8"x2" 5,000

Anyone can shed a light on how to construct the objective function

Hi Derek,
Excel is a spreadsheet program not a miracle worker. You need to do more
work on the problem before handing it over to Solver.
